I have medium almost to my shoulders hair. If I'm not feeling so hot one day, I'll straighten the bangs and let the back go wavy. Sometimes I straighten my whole head and use a texturizing paste or make some pieces flip in the back with my starightener and use hairspray.

It's your hair, you cn do what you want with it. You can look trendy yet not going with a fad at the same time. Gothic kids had their 15 minutes in the 90's, now it's time for the Scene kids to have their parade. Don't be part of the cliche that will be made fun of for every year to come.

I like that one. I would print the photo out and take it to the stylist, and tell him or her that you want it a little less dramatic. They styled that hairstyle a lot with stuff and poofed it up, so you could porbably get the same style but just not style it with products as dramatically as they have done here.

good evening all :) :) so, my hair has been basically the same everything for about 4 years now. medium length, layered, side bangs, etc. the most i've done to it is colored it. i've been thinking about chopping it all off in a bob but i think that would just be too drastic, but i've been looking into this type of a hairstyle:

I do know how to style hair like that (my hair used to be

similar).

Well, a good way to make your hair big is by volumizing.

Buy some shampoo that specializes to volumize hair.

What also works is hairspray! The method I used was

to bend over and tilt my head a bit upside down, and just

spray all over. When you stand up straight again, style

your hair the way you want it to look. The hairspray should

plump up your hair and keep the style stable for 3-4 hours.

How to you 'tease' hair?

1. Begin by making sure that curly or wavy tresses are flat ironed or blow dried straight.

Avoid backcombing/teasing hair that has any natural texture without first straightening to prevent tangling.

2. If hair is flat ironed before it is backcombed, be sure that the strands are 100% cool before teasing. If not breakege will be more likely to occer.

3. Begin by using a soft natural bristle

brush to make sure that all knots and tangles are removed from all strands before backcombing.

Never backcomb strands that are not first detangled.

4. Using a rattail or metal comb or teasing brush, part off a section of hair from the rest of the strands. Clip the remaining hair out of the way.

5. Using your hands in conjunction with a comb, gather a small section of hair approximately 1-2 inches in thickness.

6. Hold the ends of the new section straight up and out from the scalp with one hand.You will be backcombing your strands in the opposite direction from its natural growth pattern

7. With the other hand, run the comb down the length of the hair from the end towards the base of the scalp in short, sharp strokes.

8. If you don't achieve enough teased hair or height then first time , repeat the process until the hair has the right fullness, height and texture.

9. Spray every newly teased sections with a firm hold hairspray.

10. Select a firm hairspray to completely spray all of the teased hair when the backcombing is complete.

11. Using both hands carefully smooth the teased hair back in the opposite direction making sure there is a lot of height in the desired area of the hair.

Once you get the hang of teasing your strands, you will be able to do it quickly and efficiently.

Hello, I usually have problems with my hair, its too thick and that might be my main problem with doing this, but its around the proper length.

I was wondering what products I would use to get my hair to look like Josh Hartnetts in this movie, which looks like its straight and well contained but still has a messy look in some scenes, other than that it seems to spike in a few parts.

You can buy a little comb at a beauty store that is designed for back combing. It has little teeth with little barbs along them to help fluff the hair. You use it by taking a section of hair and then combing from partway down the shaft towards the roots. You dont have to do this to the point that you make a rat's nest. A little lifting and some back combing will do. You can also use a rattail comb or anything with nice close teeth.

To get it to stay up you can try various combinations of hairspray. My combing stays best when I spray it lightly with hairspary, comb as its drying and then spray it very lightly once its dry. Don't get so much spray on there that you gum up your hair. You can always add more if you need it, but too much means youd have to wash it.

Keep in mind that youll still probably need to fluff your hair by hand throughout the day. If you give it a little tussle before its completely flopped over it will spring back to life for a while. You can even carry your comb in your purse to give it a little more oomph.

If you're going to style your hair enough to fluff it, be sure to keep it in good shape with a nice shampoo and conditioner. And give your hair the occasional day off.

Trim off your split ends at least every six weeks. This will help to maintain a healthy look. Long Length hair is very easy to make 'scene', although it needs lots of TLC.

Use conditioner and shampoo tailored for your hair type. If you straighten/curl, use proper protection.

Brush your hair daily. Also comb gently to get rid of dead hairs. If you are considering getting it cut,get it razored and layered. Don't be shy with hair accessories! Kirby grips, bobby pins, bows, and ribbons look hot!

ALL hair types suit being thinned out; it makes hair look less bushy!Bows, bobby pins, and kirby grips suit all girly hair types.

To tell the truth, they aren't really for making your hair longer. They are used to make ur hair LOOK longer. Just like normal clips. but attatched with hair on them, and look for one your exact hair color. or if u want it to look lyk u have highlights, go get diffferent extensions. I have black/brown hair. - like a Asian girls with bangs on the side. and layers.- but sometimes i use blonde extensions to make it look like i have blonde highlights. it really works. some people would think u dyed ur hair or got new highlights. lol search HAIR EXTENSIONS in google and see images. yes, that is how it looks. Because you are only getting a few extensions from the looks of the picture I would suggest the clip in type, they are really good and you can get human hair ones for around $200. Real hair extensions are good, I've had them too but they just don't last and they are expensive.

sun silk has a great line of hair cream that u can find at walmart that goes from leaving waves or creating waves, straightening it out, giving it volume, or making it flat it works really good and is really cheap!

theres also a hair gel from erbal essence and its in a purple bottle at walmart and u can put it in ur hair after a shower or ur hair being wet and it will make it wavy

if u have poofy wavy hair, u probley wouldnt look so good with scene. if u get a straightener and use straigtening cream and flattening kind maybe ud look really good in it

i have the same problem, so thats why i dont let my hair hair dry. i take a shower and then i put in some redkin heat glide. then i dry my hair with a blow dryer and then put in another drop of heast glide, and my hair gets alot healthier. u can aalso take a shower and then put it in braids over night, so when i woke up it was wavyy.

umm you just cut the first layers around the middle of the back of you head, and keep layering mainly around the face, until the bottom of the chin, then do one more at shoulder level, then the rest is just thin and regular down as long as it is, blowdrying can add volume, and volume shampoo and volume creams, and teasing it of course, root lift mousse, there are tonnes of ways to get the look if you have the layers

Well in order to style it like that you need to get it cut like that. It's obviously in layer and has been texturized. Take the picture to your local salon to get it cut similar.

Now on styling it, I would suggest maybe a pomade, wax, or spiking glue. And I'm sure he flat irons it first.

Just Dye Your Hair Black... There is no actually style for emo.. keep you hair in your face, long, and straight thats as close as your gonna get.

And I cant stand the hair the tight pants and the dark heavy eyeliner. Ive told her that the style is taky and pointless. I hate the chunky jewlery and stupid emo music that sounds like guys that got kicked in the nutz or just havent hit puberty yet. How can I make her stop trying to influnece me to be a scene kid. I hate the whole idea of scene also cuz when I tell her Imma Juggalette she gets on my *** about how I should stop when really she needs to stop being emo.

If you two are true friends you wouldn't care so much about what style of clothing or music one another likes. Since it seems to bother both of you so much, I suggest re-evaluating your friendship, or better yet you BOTH should grow up. You are trying to change one another and that is not how friendships work.

She needs to appreciate the fact that you like other things, and you might also need to learn to accept that she has different tastes.

Take a middle road: ask her not to set annoying emo music when you're around and you'll stay out of her hair. You could probably ask her to tone down on the whole look, and if it totally embarasses you, get away so she understands how serious you really are.

Try to get through this as maturely as you can... You need to be patient, as obviously you see yourself as the more sensible party here.

Sounds like the two of you are 'splittin the scene.' You have one preference. She has another. You have no right to tell anybody what to do with themselves (unless they're doing harm and you want to stop them), and they have no right to tell you. If you want to be friends badly enough, you'll respect each other's being into different things. This is the problem with scenes. They tear people apart by making people loyal to large, artificial groups instead of to each other, and people end up in large groups without any real friends. Like cattle in a herd. Let her be her. You be you. And if the scene splits you up, it's tragic but it all depends on how good your friendship is, what it means to you and how much you want to work at keeping it. Good luck!

Go to the salon and get ur hair chemically straightened, it is like the opposite of a perm. If u got straighteners u wud have to do it every day.

dont get it chemicaly straightned most of the time you have to use a straightening iron anyways and it totaly kills your hair

this is exactly how i am...... i think that you could totally pull off this look, ummmm......i think if you kept the hair color you have or maybe go a little bit darker and put maybe two purple streaks to make it look like you have extentions it would look really cute

i'm sorry, but i like your hair wayyyy better than the hair you want.
