Please respond to each genre: Hair Bands (like Poison), Heavy Metal (like Judas Priest), Punk Rock (like The Clash) or New Wave (like B-52s)...will make a come back in the music scene.

Ok here are my opinion :

Hair bands - this genre will never die, even yes there are not so many new bands from this genre but this genre is always rolling like thunder. If you see in europe music scene, many old time bands like mad max, house of lords etc release their new album, they release it in some indie label not the major labe, cause major label is never care about them again.

Heavy metal - this genre is forever, their flame never off. Heavy metal is the roots for the metal music nowaday. In this genre, i think there are so many new bands born, the band like primal fear, celesty, heavenly etc, yup maybe some people say they are power metal band, but power metal is very close to heavy metal. And many old times bands keep releases their album until now, iron maiden, judaspriest, saxon, etc, they keep on rolling. And they never been beaten by any new bands, they are still the father.

Punk - this genre is also alive, but for the punk music,the music seem change a lot, even their root are never change, but their musical are quiet different from their previous bands, like the exploited, ramones etc. But still in their mainstream.

New wave - this genre is really exploding in the 80's, and their music really are a huge influence for any pop, r %26amp; b etc in this day, the elements of new wave is still reigning the world, but maybe there are not many new wave bands born, even some old bands release any new albums, but it seem not too interesting for any music lover in this world. They keep alive but in a small flame only.

Unfortunanetly no, not in the mainstream. Look through the latest editions of metal edge and magazines as such for some great bands in the underground. Although Judas Priest is still huge. Poison I believe is underground now and the clash well there never will be another one like em.

I have a feeling bands will attempt to make a comeback in those categories, but they won't succeed. You can't copy classics.

hair bands will not make a come back, unfortunately. that was just a phase that music went through in the 80's/early 90's. it was like neon colored scrunchies or those slap braclets, it wore out after a while because it was so big. what goes up must come down sort of a thing. also, are there any men left in the world with talent that would be willing to dress up looking like women and put even more holes in the o-zone with all that hairspray?

heavy metal never went anywhere. it's never been mainstream so if you aren't into that sort of music, you never really know it's there. to people who do listen to it and love it, it's their world and honestly, the people in the bands or their fans (like myself) don't really care if it gets popular. in my opinion, i don't think it ever will go mainstream. a lot of people hate that type of music and that's why the people who really like metal are so dedicated to the bands and the music.

the same could be said for punk rock. unfortunately, popular punk rock has mostly been replaced with emo crap (some people consider it a really pathetic excuse for punk). there will always be good, true punk bands around. but like i said for metal, the bands or the fans don't really care if it gets more popular.

as for new wave, i know nothing about it. sorry.

We can only pray they don't. Although Avenged Sevenfold certainly has that 80's feel to them, but they are cool and keep it current as well.

YES I think they should, some of the bands are already going on tour cities,But like Poison, Brett Michael's is going country, his CD is already out, CC is on the Surreal Life, Bobby Dall,and Ricki Rocket, I have no idea what they doing.

Judas Priest is on another CD in the works, they have been on the OZZY FEST tour already. You might want to try their websites, they can give you more info.

It depends on what you call punk. Are the Forty Fives, The D4 or the Von Bondies punk? My feeling is death metal is punk.

I think hair bands are gone. Bad hair and makeup on a guy just looks bad.

New Wave is back with bands like Denali, Pom Pom Diaries, Coal, Moving Units, Arcade Fire, Le Tigra (which sounds very much like the B-52s), The Church and The Faint.
